Do not register a load of domain names because the process that I will outline in this blog is very elaborate and time consuming, and it has to be repeated for each and every domain name you register. So if you already have a bunch of them before starting then you have increased your work load exponentially. You will need about 8 hours per domain name, so you will want to work each domain name one at a time to make sure that the process is completed correctly. Also the idea of a large workload causes stress; hence, you may back down from doing the work altogether because it is stressful; just keep that in mind.

Domain Names Registration

The first key to success in Domaining is to pick a catchy name that consists of popular keywords. Such as chocolate-dessert.com; take note of the sheer simplicity. 'Chocolate', a very popular keyword that is punched into search engines approximately 3233 times every single day. While 'dessert' gets searched 453 times per day. Now take note of the phrase "search engine" because that's what you need to be devoted to; if you want to become a domaining phenom. Your overall goal for your domain is to have it indexed and ranked highly in search engines; not just Google, but all of them.
Analysis: Domain Names Registration
1)Choosing a good name takes time and research. Pick a topic that's popular and then research any keywords that you can use in your domain name to make sure that they are popular as well. The reason it takes so much time is because many of the names that sound or look like they have good potential; are already taken.
2)Does the name have star power? Super star sites such as yahoo.com are being mimiced by smart domainers with names such as yaho.com. This is a form of typo-squatting or picking a name that is almost exactly the same as a poplular name with a minor difference such as a commonly mistyped letter. This is a traditional form of domaining in which mispelled popular names yield direct navigation traffic for the domainer. However as I've said in a previous post direct navigation traffic is a rarity due to the development of the search engine. Remember to focus on the phrase "search engine" and try to stray away from typo-squatting. Moreover, typo-squatting can lead to legal issues and many big companies are now protecting their names by purchasing similar names. For instance, the name amzon.com is owned by Amazon and is redirected to their online megastore.
Next time on Domain Names I will discuss a traditional form of domaining known as Cash Parking.

Domain Names the Dead Game

Traditional domain parking is dead; it lost its pulse and flat-lined back in 2002 when the dot-com bubble burst. The only people who can make a dime in the domain names game bought up all the good names back in the early 90's and they're not for sale, and if they were for sale you couldn't afford them. So how does a baby entrepreneur get his feet wet in this business... well, you don't unless you've got a few hundred thousand dollars to start with. I believe the last big name I saw go was phenom.com and it sold for around $50,000.00 so as you can see unless you've got megabucks in the bank you probably don't want to waste your time and effort in this business. Unless you have a good strategy and you're ready to stray away from the traditional bull$#!+ such as cash parking and typo squatting. Wait a minute; I'm babbling..let me start again. For all of you who don't know what the Domain Name Game is: it is the process of buying domain names such as whatever.com and then using any of the following methods to earn profit or income from the domain name such as:
1) Selling the domain name at a higher price than you paid for it
2)Cash Parking- The process of filling a web page with advertisements and getting paid when someone clicks the advertisements.
Back in the day, before the dot com bubble blew up in our faces, one could make a great deal of money by purchasing names and parking them; however, there is truly too much advancement in how the internet is navigated to earn any real doe. Why, you ask? Because back in the day, names like chocolate.com and diamonds.com were available and could be cash parked to earn wopping revenues. Domain names such as chocolate.com could pull in millions of traffic hits per day because back in the old domain name days if you went looking for chocolate you had to type chocolate.com directly into your web browser to find chocolate. Nowadays everybody's jumped on the Search Engine Bandwagon, so "direct navigation traffic" as its called is now a rarity. Still however, thousands of foolish domainers are parking pages with GoDaddy, Sedo, Fabulous, etc, etc. I don't mean to offend I'm just saying that some of these services such as Go Daddy are pay to park services; meaning you give them your cash; they park your page; you get low traffic; and no money. I believe Go Daddy charges $9.99/month and you get 80% of the ad revenues from your cash parked pages. However, at the end of the month you'll probably not have made a dime and Go Daddy will have stuffed 10 of your hard earned dollars in their pockets. Sedo parking only offers 50% of the add revenues and their templates for the parked pages are complete crap. When I used traditional parking; I asked my girlfriend to visit my Sedo parked page and she said she wouldn't click anything on it because it looked like it had viruses...Viruses!...Viruses! Can you believe that $#!+ and to be honest GoDaddy's pages don't look any better. So there you have it, that's another reason why if anyone happens to find the page in the first place; they're not clickin' $#!+ on your virusy parked page. So let me sum this ISH up for ya!
1) No clicks because of a lack of direct navigation traffic due to search engines. Also don't be foolish; if you are getting direct navigation traffic its because a domainer who wants your domain is wondering what the hell your doing with it. But don't get excited; they ain't clickin' the ads.
2) 0 as in zero content; search engines do not display parked pages because they have zero content it is in essence a page of links so unless someone types the exact domain name into a search engine the parked page will not be displayed in the results.
3) Big business such as Go Daddy selling millions of names for cheap and I can't prove this so I won't state it as a fact; but I believe that they are involved in suspicious activity that could lead their customers to believe that a particular name is worth a great deal more than it actually is. Okay I've gotten myself started; I have to say it. Go Daddy is scamming people out of their money. You may have never noticed this but isn't it a bit suspicious that when you buy a domain name from Go Daddy and type the name into your web browser; you are taken to a parked page that claims to be parked Free by Go Daddy. However, you best believe that you don't get any revenue from it. I called them to ask about this when it happened with a domain name I purchased. The guy tells me that its just a page parked free by GoDaddy.com. My response was I own the domain name so when will you be sending me a check for the ad revenue from the parked page. This a$$ tells me that I haven't paid for cash parking through GoDaddy. When I tell him that the page is mine and I don't want them parking it without my permission; this jack@$$ tells me that Go Daddy does it to everybody. Wow, lets excuse bad behavior because its happening to everybody. I'm a murderer please don't complain because I'm killing you; I've done it to everybody. I'm a bank robber don't call the police because I've done it to everybody. What a $#!+ excuse. I know I'm rambling, but think about it they have hundreds of thousands of customers who are having their pages parked for free by Go Daddy. I know those pages probably don't earn anymore than a couple of dollars per month, but multiply that by 100000 people and you've got a great deal of money being stolen. Please excuse my Go Daddy rant..I know that this post is supposed to be about Domaining so I'm gonna get to it.
There is a better way to play the domain name game and it doesn't take anymore time and effort than playing it the traditional way. I'll be updating this post with all the information you need to make some real money in this business and it doesn't take much startup cash..just a little bit of your time. So come back and see me again..Maybe I'll raise a little more hell about Go Daddy as well; I just don't like them that much.
